Gallo To Chick-Fil-A: Come To Southern Brooklyn! - NOW WITH AUDIO!

Russell Gallo, Republican / Conservative candidate for Assembly in the 45th Assembly District, took New York City Democrats to task by inviting Georgia-based restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A to set up shop in his southern Brooklyn district.

On Monday, Gallo sent a letter to Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy inviting him to bring his business to Brooklyn in response to Christine Quinn’s statement that Chick-Fil-A, a company that has never broken any discriminatory laws, was not welcome to do business in New York City because of Cathy’s personal views supporting the traditional family unit.

“Christine Quinn wants to add political correctness to the growing list of licenses, taxes, requirements and fees already passed by Democrats like Steven Cymbrowitz that already burden our small businesses,” said Gallo. “I will not stand idly by and allow Quinn and Cymbrowitz to suppress free speech, free enterprise and job creation.”

Gallo is on record for supporting traditional family values, but said the reason for his letter was bigger than one issue. “I and many of the people in the district agree with Mr. Cathy’s views on family, but that’s not the point,” said Gallo. “I sent a letter to Dan Cathy to invite him to open a Chick-Fil-A in the district because, unlike Quinn and Cymbrowitz, I respect our individual rights and freedoms,”

“Christine Quinn and the Democrats cannot dictate to me or the people who live in my district what to believe, who to support and where we spend our money. Can’t we let New Yorkers choose their own chicken, Madam Speaker?”

Gallo hopes Dan Cathy takes him up on his invitation. “I look forward to having a Chick-Fil-A Sandwich in Brooklyn soon.”
